Spring on the Nová Bystřice Line

Spring on the JHMD and I couldn't keep my dress on—too warm, too golden, too alive. The TU47 rattles through rapeseed fields like it has all day (it does). Windows open, diesel purring, that glorious Tatra engine note you feel in your chest. I shot this whole set leaning out, letting the breeze do what it wanted, catching the driver's amused glance in the mirror. Narrow-gauge trains move slow enough for mischief. This is what happens when you give a girl a vintage railcar and no supervision. Want to come along next time? I promise I'll behave. (I won't.)

The Streamliner Collection

Class 498.1 "Albatros" streamliner, Praha hlavní nádraží. Built 1936, withdrawn 1974, restored 1998. Art deco-period burgundy velvet selected for historical accuracy against original chrome trim. This collection documents the Bauhaus influence on Czechoslovak locomotive design—aerodynamic fairings, passenger comfort innovations, the optimism of interwar modernism. Technical notes included on boiler pressure modifications and streamlining effectiveness. Archive-grade documentation.

Westbound Through Nevada

Watch the desert turn molten through curved glass. I slipped into evening silk as we climbed through the Sierras—the observation dome all to myself, champagne warming in my hand, that gorgeous ache of solitude at speed. The light does something to bare shoulders at altitude. 74 hours Chicago to Emeryville and I never wanted it to end. This set captures the luxury of time: dressing for no one, undressing for the mirror, the private theater of crossing a continent. Are you watching?

Midnight Coupling

14 minutes of raw coupling footage. Watch 80-ton wagons slam together at controlled violence—the crunch of knuckles locking, air hoses whipping, that electric moment of perfect mechanical union. I'm in full latex under the hi-vis, subzero temps making every breath visible. The sodium lights turn everything amber and shadow. This isn't safe-for-work railroad porn—this is the real thing: steel discipline, hydraulic power, the brutal grace of freight operations. You can almost feel the impact through the screen. Industrial domination at 4mph.

U37.002: Steam in the 21st Century

19 minutes with U37.002 getting steamed up—literally. They let me help fire the boiler and darling, coal dust gets everywhere (and I mean everywhere). Shot this in 1906-appropriate linen that got progressively less appropriate as the day heated up. Watch me learn to read pressure gauges, get soot on my cheek, adjust corset laces in the cab. Steam locomotives don't care about your styling—they're too busy being glorious fire-breathing dragons. The crew was gentlemanly. Mostly. This is what 21st-century girls do on narrow-gauge steam days: get dirty, stay curious, flirt with history. Full behind-the-scenes audio of me definitely not knowing what I'm doing.

The Turndown

17 minutes alone in my sleeper compartment, Paris to Venice. Watch me prepare for bed the way I do when no one's watching—silk against skin, the slow ritual of letting down hair, oil massaged into tired feet as the carriage rocks. I left the curtains open at Lausanne. Someone on the platform caught my eye. I didn't look away. The audio is everything: my breath, the rails, distant bells, the intimate sounds of a woman settling into crisp sheets. This is the train travel no one talks about—the private moments between stations when you belong only to yourself.

Knuckle Coupler Studies

Macro fetish for mechanical perfection. Every groove, every wear pattern, every hydraulic fitting on AAR Type E knuckle couplers shot in clinical detail. I posed with them because I respect them—these mechanisms handle 350,000 pounds of buff force without complaint. The contrast: smooth latex against pitted steel, manicured nails tracing safety chains, the sensual geometry of industrial engineering. This set is technical worship. If you don't understand why couplers are sexy, you're not looking hard enough. Function is the ultimate form.

Industrial Elegy

Behind-the-scenes: Česká Třebová depot preservation work. Shot on Kodak Portra 160, 35mm. Documents Class T478.2 and T478.3 diesel-electric shunters (ČKD manufacture 1964-1973) awaiting restoration. Paint analysis reveals original ČSD livery beneath socialist-era modifications. These locomotives represent the industrial backbone of Czechoslovak heavy freight: 883kW engine output, 80-tonne operating weight. Technical notes on underframe corrosion patterns and bogie wear included for preservation researchers.

Kaproun Station: Architecture of Waiting

Kaproun halt: population 6, trains 4x daily, charm infinite. I waited an hour for the next service in this 1897 shelter—just me, wildflowers, and a hand-painted timetable that hasn't changed since Masaryk was president. Did a whole photo set there because when you look this good and the light is this perfect, why not? The narrow-gauge teaches patience. It also teaches that sometimes the best thing you can do is absolutely nothing... except maybe tease the camera a little. The next train showed up eventually. The driver recognized me. We had a chat. I may have missed my stop on purpose.

Winter Maintenance at Jindřichův Hradec Depot

Winter depot day: no glamour, just grease and honest work. Spent the day with the JHMD mechanics doing bearing replacements on 90-year-old carriages—messy, cold, unglamorous, necessary. I dressed for the job: work coat, thermals, zero pretense. This set is my love letter to the people who keep heritage railways alive through sheer stubborn dedication. They tolerate my camera because I also tolerate freezing my hands off helping with track repairs. Is it sexy? No. Is it real? Absolutely. Sometimes romance means respecting the work more than the aesthetic. (But I still wore the corset under the coveralls. A girl has standards.)
